Engr. G.O.P. Osakue, FNSE, FNIPE

Chairman, Board of Directors


A senior expert in power systems, Engr. Osakue was the pioneer CEO of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) from 2005 to 2008. He has undergone extensive training and acquired numerous professional certifications in Nigeria, Europe and USA.

As pioneer CEO, he set up all the functional units of TCN, surmounting its enormous teething challenges; and supervised the mandatory activities of Electricity Transmission, System Operation & Market Operation. Previously as Executive Director (Transmission), he managed the Grid expansion of the 330KV & 132KV network and the various construction projects nationwide, while also supervising the Transmission Regions and Work Centres. And as Executive Director (Distribution), he was responsible for the optimal performance and management of the then 10 Distribution Zones of PHCN.

After retirement from TCN, he served as Transmission Adviser/Consultant to the then Hon. Minister of Power. He once served as Energy Consultant and Training Assessor to the National Power Training Institute (NAPTIN). Engr. Osakue is also currently the Chairman of Rhuoga Energy Ltd, an EPC contracting firm executing TCN’s 132/33KV Substation projects at Igboora, Iganga and Shonga.

A 1977 graduate of Electrical Engineering of the University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria, Engr. Osakue is a COREN-registered Engineer and a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers. He is also a Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Power Engineers.

He is the Chairman of ARCEP Engineering Limited.

Engr. Louis E. Eromosele, MNSE, FNIPE

Managing Director & Member of the Board


Engr. Eromosele is a seasoned power engineer. He attained the peak of his career in Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) in May 2007 when he was promoted to the position of General Manager (Transmission) and deployed to Oshogbo Transmission Region. He later served as General Manager of Shiroro Region in 2008 and Port-Harcourt Region in 2009, from where he retired statutorily in 2011. In these roles, he monitored and coordinated maintenance and rehabilitation activities of Transmission Regions (and Work Centres) which he superintended over.

Since retirement, he has served as Project Manager with Yaroson Partners Ltd, a consulting engineering firm supervising the construction of TCN power transmission projects among which are: Katampe TS – National Stadium (Abuja) 132KV D/C Transmission Line (8.4km of UG cabling + 4km of OH Line) and 2x60MVA 132/33KV Substation at Kukwaba (Abuja).

Engr. Eromosele, a 1978 graduate of Kaduna Polytechnic with HND and HTD in Electrical Engineering, is a COREN-registered Engineer and holds corporate memberships of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, National Association of Technological Engineers and Nigerian Institute of Management. He is also a Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Power Engineers.

He is the Managing Director of ARCEP Engineering Limited.

Engr. Eromosele is a seasoned power engineer and was General Manager (Transmission) of TCN's Oshogbo, Shiroro and Port-Harcourt Transmission Regions respectively.

Engr. Akin S. A. Bada, FNSE, FNIPE

Director and Member of the Board


Engr. Bada was the CEO of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) from 2011 to 2012. In 1981, he obtained a M.Sc. Degree in Telecommunication Engineering from the Technical University of Budapest, Hungary. He later was involved in the design, installation and commissioning of the first microwave telephony system for Budapest.

Early on, he worked with the Nigerian Post & Telecommunications (P&T) for one year where he was trained in the maintenance of the Siemens Microwave Carrier System which complemented the then DOMSAT.

At PHCN, he held positions including Asst. General Manager (Communications & Information Technology), General Manager (System Operations) and Head (System Operations). In 2009, he became the first Executive Director (System Operations) of TCN. In 2010, he was appointed as the Senior Special Assistant to the President for Transmission & System Operations Monitoring in the Presidential Task Force on Power (PTFP). One of his major achievements in office as CEO of TCN was system stability generation spinning reserve. He has attended various equipment-specific, technical, industry-specific regulatory and management courses and seminars in Nigeria, Europe, South Africa, USA and Brazil.

Engr. Bada is Chief Consulting Partner at Szotyola Energy Resources International Ltd, which specializes in High, Medium and Low Voltage Infrastructure Maintenance; General Transmission & Distribution Plants, Operations & Support; Electricity Grid Telecommunications (SCADA) and Training.

Engr. Bada is a registered Engineer with COREN. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineering and a member of the Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineering of UK (IEEE). He is also a Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Power Engineers.

Engr. Bada is a former CEO of the Transmission Company of Nigeria and a former Senior Special Assistant to the President in the Presidential Task Force on Power.

Engr. Hyacinth C. Nwaogbo, MNSE, FNIPE

Director and Member of the Board


Engr. Nwaogbo is a thorough-bred power engineer with over four decades of professional experience.

He joined Lever Brothers Nigeria Ltd in 1977 as a Project Engineer, where he oversaw the installation and maintenance of plant and equipment including 850KV Caterpillar generators. In 1985, he joined the then NEPA and was appointed Principal Engineer at the Corporate Headquarters in Lagos. He moved up the ranks and was promoted to Asst. General Manager (Projects) in 2002. He presented a well-researched technical paper titled “Challenges of Contracting & Project Execution in the Power Industry” at the International Energy Forum, held in Lagos in 2002.

Following the emergence of TCN from PHCN, Engr. Nwaogbo was in 2007 appointed as General Manager (Design & Construction). He was responsible for the planning, design and construction of several National Grid development projects (at 330/132/33KV voltage levels) involving over 50 transmission lines and substations.

He has travelled extensively in the line of duty, attending many technical courses and workshops in Nigeria, USA and Canada, and witnessing Quality Assurance & Acceptance Tests on power transmission equipment in Italy, Germany, France, Turkey and Sweden. Since retirement from public service in 2008, he has served as Transmission Specialist with Izap Engineering Services Ltd and is the current Managing Director of Rhuoga Energy Ltd.

Engr. Nwaogbo is a 1976 Electrical Engineering graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He is a COREN-registered Engineer and a corporate member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers. He is also a Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Power Engineers.

Engr. Nwaogbo is a former General Manager (Design & Construction) at the Transmission Company of Nigeria and a thorough-bred power engineer.

Engr. Ovwigho Ukiri, MNSE, FNIPE

Director and Member of the Board


Engr. Ukiri is a seasoned Civil/Structural Engineer with a wealth of experience spanning over three and a half decades in the power sector.

He joined the now defunct NEPA (later PHCN & TCN) in 1981 as a Pupil Civil/Structural Engineer, rose through the ranks at the Corporate HQ and was promoted to the senior management position of Asst. General Manager (Civil) in 2010, where he served as head of the Civil Engineering Division of Transmission Company of Nigeria. He was responsibile for the planning, design, construction supervision and management of the civil/structural works of high voltage power transmission lines and substation projects, as well as rehabilitation projects. He retired statutorily in March 2013.

Some notable projects which Engr. Ukiri supervised while at TCN are: Kano – Katsina 132KV S/C Transmission Line – 2nd Circuit (1982-1985); Lagos Distribution System Expansion (LDSE) 132KV & 33KV Transmission Lines – Lots A & B (1985-1990); Oshogbo/Ife-Ilesha 132KV S/C Transmission Line & Ilesha 2×30/40MVA 132/33KV Substation (1996-2000); Kano-Dutse-Azare 132KV D/C & S/C Lines (2001-2007); Rerouting of Ikeja West-Ayede 330KV & Papalanto-Abeokuta 132KV S/C Transmission Lines at Owiwi Dam & Water Works Project Site, Ogun State (2006-2009) and 2nd Benin-Onitsha 330KV S/C Transmission Line (2009‑2012).

Engr. Ukiri has attended various technical and management courses/workshops in Nigeria, as well as in Ireland and England. He has participated in several factory acceptance tests (FAT) for transmission line towers in South Africa, Italy, China, Romania and India. Since retirement from TCN, he has served as an Inspector with COREN Engineering Regulation Monitoring (ERM). He has also been engaged in part-time consulting on civil/structural engineering with Jiyoda Engineering Nig. Ltd, a renowned power engineering consultancy firm handling projects for TCN and National Integrated Power Project (NIPP).

A 1980 graduate of Civil Engineering of the University of Benin, Benin City, Nigeria, Engr. Ukiri is a registered Engineer with COREN and a corporate member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers, Nigerian Institution of Structural Engineers and Nigerian Institute of Management. He is also a Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Power Engineers.

A seasoned Civil/Structural Engineer with over 35 years experience in the power industry, Engr. Ukiri headed the Civil Engineering Division of the Transmission Company of Nigeria from 2010 to 2013.
